Meet the Owner

WE-AR DANCE was brought to life by Joy Richardson. She herself has danced since the age of 3 and is currently a dance instructor.  Growing up in the world of dance darker skin tone girls were not widely represented. When skin tone tights were needed, she would have to boil coffee then take lighter tone tights and soak them in the coffee to achieve the look of her skin tone. This story is how WE-AR DANCE was born. Joy believes every dancer no matter the shade or background should be equally represented in every aspect of dancewear.
